As if transitioning from a notebook to a mobile app wasn’t momentous enough, steps are still being taken every day to improve the Tip Whip experience. Feedback is one of the most useful tools when it comes to growing and succeeding as a company, and we’ve taken all the feedback we’ve received – from drivers, riders, and local businesses – to heart. We submitted a $5,000 Libra Future Foundation grant that will cover the cost of several updates to the Tip Whip app that will benefit everyone involved.
For our riders; you will now be able to see all of the drivers’ car icons, even if they’re currently driving another student. No longer will you be scrambling to make other arrangements for rides when the map comes up empty. Instead of busy cars disappearing from the map, the icons will be either red or green, depending on the status of the car. A green icon means the driver is available to accept a ride, and red means the driver is already engaged in a ride. With this new update, students can rest assured that there are drivers working, and safe ride is just minutes away.
To promote local businesses, riders will also be surprised with promo codes at random to tip their drivers. At the end of the ride, students have the chance to interact and say thank you to the business for funding their ride. Not only does this reward students for using Tip Whip and add revenue by advertising, it creates a personal touch when businesses can receive messages of thanks from students and know they are truly helping them make the right decision.
At Tip Whip, we are taking every chance we have to make it even easier for students to get a safe ride home. These new updates will undoubtedly result in a smoother transition as we begin our expansion to the Husson campus!
