Meet the Founder & CEO:
Spencer began his undergraduate career at UMaine in 2009 as a defensive end on the football team. He earned NCAA awards both on and off the field. Upon his graduation in 2013, he was invited to become a graduate assistant in the College of Human Development. In May of 2015, he received his Master’s in Human Development with a focus on violence prevention. Spencer founded Tip Whip in January of 2014.

Ed McKersie is the Founder and President of LiveandWorkinMaine LLC, an initiative to increase awareness of career opportunities in Maine. He is also the Founder and President of Pro Search, Inc., a staffing and recruiting firm. Established in 1994 in Portland, ME. The firm is now the largest locally owned firm of its kind in the State of Maine.
Ed was also a co-founder and early investor in JobsintheUS.com, a locally focused internet job site that has grown into the largest job site in Maine, New Hampshire Vermont and Rhode Island. He and his partners sold JobsintheUS.com in 2005 to a publicly traded company. Ed has served as the Board Chair of the Maine Center for Enterprise Development and is also a member of the Maine Angels.
A Massachusetts native, Ed graduated from Bentley University with a dual major in Economics and Finance in 1983 and moved to Maine in 1989.
Director of Northeast Expansion & UMaine Campus Manager
Currently a senior at the University of Maine, John has been driving for Tip Whip since the beginning of 2014. Coming up on his fourth year with Tip Whip John has gradually worked his way up from starting as one of the first drivers to now heading our operations in New England. He will be finishing his degree in Construction Engineering Technology in May ’18.
